"Welcome to San Franciscoooooo"

We arrived in San Francisco late afternoon just as the sun was setting over the Bay Bridge. We ordered some pad Thai for dinner which turned out not to be what we ordered and was not too great. Our hotel was in a really cool area and was close to a lot of the things we wanted to see.

The next morning we woke up early and went to Alamo Square and Postcard Row. We also saw the original Full House house!

Hey Uncle Jesse ;)

Then we went to breakfast at Dottie’s, a popular breakfast place recommended by Guy. There was already a line when we got there but by the time we were seated, the line was out the door. They serve all of the breakfast basics but with a slight twist. For example, their toast is buttermilk dill and they have a jalapeno corn bread with jalapeno jelly.  Their orange juice was delicious and seemed freshly squeezed but didn’t have pulp. We hated to leave that neighborhood but at $3.00/hour for street parking, we quickly ran out of change and had to leave.

After eating we went to the bay to find a cache. It was in a really nice community garden filled with all sorts of flowers and plants among which were the largest roses we’ve ever seen.

Next we went to Pier 39. It was a really nice place to spend the afternoon just listening to the sea lions talk and walk around from shop to shop. We ended up at one of the bars having a few coronas for Cinco de Mayo.

Larry finding out Dennis was caught.

After the pier, we went to find one of the most popular caches in the United States. It had a beautiful view of Goldengate Bridge and a nice neighborhood facing the water. It was tough to get to because some hippies were hanging out right in front of it.

It was starting to get chilly so we went back to our hotel to get warmer clothes. We decided to walk to Chinatown, the biggest one outside of China. It was a grueling walk with all of the hills of San Francisco, but we got to check out “the crookedest street” in San Francisco on Lombard Street. After that we arrived at what seemed to be “the” place to be in San Francisco and even went to an art gallery where they served beer out of soda cups. We bought some ridiculous souvenirs and some more bad Chinese food and headed home.
