"Watch out for us crazy people out therrr" Day 2

Today we woke up around 630 thanks to the hour we gained from changing into the central time zone. We made it to St. Louis early and were able to be one of the first ones to the top of the Gateway Arch. The ride up was extremely claustrophobic  and shaky but the view from the top was worth it.

Little fact about St. Louis: Our favorite DMB album was recorded here. It's also where you can find Nelly "rollin' on dubs." We got to see the entire city of St. Louis and find a nice cache. We attempted to drive to Springfield, Missouri through Route 66 but it was too mickey mouse so we bought lots of fireworks and got back on the highway.
When we got to Springfield our first stop was the largest Bass Pro Shops in the country. It was HUGE with its own restaurants and lots of different sections for all of your outdoorsy needs including a shooting range and a $42,000 shotgun. They had a giant snapping turtle and a creepy alligator gar.

Next we went to Red Velvet! I (Jules) had been looking forward to going to this store for so long! The owner, Elsie is such an inspiration and was even nicer in person than I could have imagined. She pointed us to her favorite vintage furniture store, Funtiques. We stayed probably a little longer than we should have but walked away with an Atari system and the cutest vintage ‘50s dress ever! We tried the pizza at Pizza House out of curiosity and good recommendations but Larry wasn’t a big fan. (no surprise there!)
girl crush ;)

We saw lots of flooded fields, more cows than Val would know what to do with, a beautiful sunset, but most important.. “cheap” gas!

Tonight we're in Topeka, Kansas. Our plan is to make it to Denver tomorrow.

PS: We're so glad you guys like the blog! We'll try to update more and we hope we made up for yesterday's lack of pictures ;)
